If you love the outdoors and want to get married with a beautiful mountain landscape behind you, look no further! I have found the top 10 mountain wedding venues in North Idaho that are perfect for your intimate wedding or elopement with friends and family!
These options are perfect if you want your family there to witness the ceremony, but you still want that adventurous, outdoorsy feel. A lot of my couples elope outdoors and if they bring some family along, these places are great options to include them for a ceremony and/or reception.
An elopement tip: If you want to elope and get the best of both worlds by having some alone time and while having some guests, you can start the day with an adventurous hike or with whatever activity you love most, and then meet back up with your family and guests at one of these locations (all of which have amazing hikes and places to adventure nearby) and have a little ceremony, reception with food, and whatever else! Elopements are so flexible which is so nice! And since I'm a local, I know some amazing photo locations near these spots to adventure at!

Elk Point is located in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. It overlooks Lake Coeur d'Alene and the mountains around the lake. This space has a building on suite, so you can choose an indoor or an outdoor setting. This venue is just a short few minute drive from Downtown Coeur d'Alene and Sherman Ave. There are many great places to eat on Sherman and the Coeur d'Alene Resort is also right down the road. The Coeur d'Alene Resort is such a gorgeous venue for any occasion! It overlooks Lake Coeur d'Alene, which is so beautiful as is. If you opt for the Celebration Garden, you'll be surrounded by flowers and the gorgeous blue lake while you stand on a platform over a ceremonial reflection pool. The resort itself is also a great place to stay, shop, and eat/enjoy some drinks.

I can't say enough good things about Farragut! I live about 10 minutes away, so I do so many shoots here. It has amazing rocky beaches with giant mountains that come straight up out of the water, such a pretty backdrop! There are cabins you can rent that overlook Lake Pend Oreille, and there's a pavilion area that you can rent as well. Farragut has lots of stunning hiking trails in and near the park, and I have found some amazing locations in the park for your adventure bridals and/or elopement! Check out more of these adventure bridals in Farragut!

7. Mt. Spokane
Even though Mt. Spokane is located in Washington and not Idaho, I had to include it! I live in North Idaho and I can see this mountain from my property. Mt. Spokane has the most insane views! It feels like you're on top of the world. There are stunning views everywhere you look! Plus there's also a gorgeous forest setting on the mountain as well, making it a great option for a wedding venue if you're craving those mountain views.

You can only book this venue if you are an active member of the country club, but this venue still offers stunning views of Hayden Lake! This is perfect if you're wanting a more private option, with a place to host a reception at the same location. Their wedding events include wedding services like tables, linens, transportation from the parking lot, and a microphone to use.

10. The Beauty of Eloping Outdoors: Anywhere is Your Venue
Eloping outdoors is my absolute favorite, hence why I specialize in it! If you are someone who would rather it just be the two of you getting married or with a small group of your friends and family, then you can read more about elopements here! But the outdoors is the best venue because it's so beautiful, and you only really need to pay for a permit (if necessary) to get married there.
But you're in luck, because I'm not only a photographer, but I also help you plan your elopement in the outdoors. I create a day around what you actually want to do, not what everyone else wants!
I have tons of free elopement planning resources on my blog if you're interested! Check them out to get you started on planning your adventure elopement, either here in Idaho or the Pacific Northwest!
Here's some of my favorite locations for elopements in North Idaho! I have an Idaho Elopement Guide available exclusively to couples who hire me for their adventure elopement. You'll get access to all these spots that you can choose from for your elopement (if you don't have a location in mind), and all the elopement planning tips you could need.
If you want family and/or friends there for your elopement who aren't able to hike to the top of a mountain to witness your marriage, you can definitely choose one of the venues listed above to get married at, but then spend the main part of the day exploring any of these places! You can say vows, we can take some adventure bridals, and I can just document you two as you enjoy the views and the adventure of your choosing. The options are endless!
