Sunset Ceremony at Colter Bay Swim Beach in the Grand Tetons

The weddings I get to capture in this place are truly wonderful, not only because of the scenery but also the amazing couples that make my job so much fun! 🏔️✨I was so happy to get to come back to the area for Kaylyn and Michael for their Sunset Ceremony at Colter Bay Swim Beach in the Grand Tetons, their love was so evident throughout this day - from doing their sunset ceremony in front of these awe inspiring mountains to ending the night with a blue hour champagne picnic🥂, and frolicking around this stunning area soaking in the views!
This was such an unforgettable day, even throughout the entire planning process, working with Kaylyn and Michael was such a joy as we planned and created their day for their adventure in the Tetons. This day is also the perfect example of having the best of both worlds, when you bring guests along but still making time for just the two of you to soak in not only the views, but also just each other!
Getting Ready in Downtown Jackson
We first met up at a salon downtown Jackson, where the girls were all getting ready together. Kaylyn had a beautiful half up done by the Tanya Crocker team (their team is seriously the best and they specialize in hair and makeup made to last through the mountain elements)! We all had a great time hanging out, and we all had a laugh when Kaylyn went into their storage closet to get into her dress, haha!
Sunset Ceremony at Colter Bay
What could be better than a sunset ceremony on the beach?! The light was so golden and warm for their wedding ceremony! My couple waited to do a first look until Kaylyn was walking down the aisle, which made for such a sweet moment! They had their ceremony officiated by Jackson Hole Officiant.
✍️Planning Tip: If you are interested in doing a sunset ceremony and if you want more photos after in the park, as well as dinner coverage, I'd recommend picking a ceremony spot close to your Airbnb/rental, and I would recommend staying in Jackson vs the Idaho side!
Private Vows on the Shore of Jackson Lake
After the excitement of the ceremony, their guests headed out to meet them for dinner later on, which left Kaylyn and Michael some privacy for their private vows on the shore of Jackson Lake. I love when my couples choose to do private vows, as they are super flexible and they can be done before or after the ceremony! I think it was really sweet that they did it after ceremony, as the excitement of them being officially married made the moment that much more special!
Blue Hour Picnic with Champagne
We then headed to one of my absolute favorite spots to take photos in the entire park! This spot lets you see the entire Teton range, which was perfect for Michael and Kaylyn to take in the beauty of the mountains, as they travelled all the way from Indiana to take in these mountain majesties!
After some really fun bridals in this spot, they brought a champagne picnic and enjoyed some drinks together in this stunning spot. I had some battery powered candles in my elopement picnic kit, so I brought those out along with my lanterns and we made some magic during this blue hour!

Every time I've visited the Tetons it has rained at some point during my trip, even in the middle of summer, so picking vendors that know how to work around the elements like rain and the higher elevation, will seriously make the biggest difference in your confidence for your wedding day.
