Makena and Shane definitely picked the perfect time to get gorgeous autumn colors for this fall elopement in Farragut State Park! Makena reached out to me super last minute asking for a photographer in Farragut State Park for their intimate wedding, and since I live so close I was available for her! Makena is such a sweet human and I'm glad I was able to take their fall elopement photos in Farragut State Park!
Where is Farragut State Park located?
Farragut State Park is located in Athol, Idaho right on Lake Pend Oreille. Located about 30 miles northeast of Coeur d'Alene, this park makes up 4,000 acres of land, filled with amazing hiking trails, beach access, wildlife, campsites and more! For this elopement, I know of a beautiful field that overlooks the lake, and has the best trees for fall colors for photos! You can see what it looks like below!
How Much Does it Cost to Enter Farragut State Park?
Motor Vehicle Entrance Fees for Farragut State Park:
Resident: $7
Non-Resident: $14

When is the Best Time for Fall Photos?
For these fall elopement photos, it was mid-October! That seemed to be the peak of fall colors, and it was perfect for these gorgeous fall bridals!
This day was also a warm day, so at the end of the evening Makena and Shane did some photos in the water! October all around is just a great time of year to elope! It's the perfect temperature outside and everything is golden and orange, so pretty!
