Along with the main things below, the main thing I looked for when researching the best rentals was imagining how it would look in photos. Having a nice open space, lots of window light, and imagining the main photos I usually take for elopements helped me to see if the space would work well. I kept all of these things in mind while finding these 10 rentals, so these are photographer approved as well!

1. Crystal Peak Lookout in Fernwood Idaho
This Crystal Peak Lookout has to be one of the coolest Airbnb's in North Idaho! Who wouldn't want to rent a private lookout tower and have it all to yourselves? You could wake up, get ready together with pine trees outside your windows, make fresh hot coffee, and take adventurous lookout tower bridals. Located in Fernwood Idaho, this lookout tower is available year round (a snowcat brings you up in the wintertime), complete with a wood fired sauna and 13 acres for exploring! Plus, it's pet friendly! This is a perfect addition to any adventurous elopement.

2. Dog Friendly Castle on Schweitzer Mountain
Okay when I saw that there was a literal castle available to rent on Schweitzer Mountain, I immediately added it to my list! How cool is this medieval looking castle nestled in the mountains? It has such neat architecture, and it makes you feel like you went back in time just by looking at it.
You can look out the windows and you can see the tops of the trees, making it also feel like you're in a treehouse. I am all for unique Airbnb's for your elopement, they add such a neat, fun, and memorable experience to the day! And it comes with a hot tub, what else could you need?

3. North Idaho Glamping Yurt
When looking for Airbnb's, I also really wanted to make sure there was a neat variety of places you could rent. I think yurts like this glamping one are great for elopements! Imagine your wedding dress hanging on the front door with all the beautiful trees in the background! I loved this yurt in Sandpoint especially because of the inside, the front porch space, and the forest area around it. The forest area is a great spot for a first look/bridals, and from here you could head off on your elopement adventure!

4. Priest Lake Cabin
I have photographed an elopement here a few years ago and after doing so, I thought it would be a great one to include, especially because I have image examples!
This cabin is nestled in the woods near Hill's Resort in Priest Lake. Priest Lake is one of my favorite areas for elopements! You are so close to Canada so the mountains are insane and the lake itself is breathtaking. Combine that scenery with a cozy cabin in the woods and you'll be set to elope here, just like Bailey and Elliot did for their winter elopement here.

This romantic lakefront cabin is another great option! I especially loved the long narrow windows in the living area, with views of the lake and gorgeous trees right outside.
Properties like this are great if you planned to include some form of water activities. You could swim off the dock, kayak, paddleboard, or take a sunset boat ride. There's also a firepit area, patio table, and a forested property. This is perfect for an elopement nestled in the woods!

I had such an incredible time photographing this Spring Forest Micro-Wedding in Priest Lake at this cabin in the woods! The property and indoor space made for such stunning photographs. This rustic lodge in Priest Lake is a wonderful location also located in Priest Lake. Perfect for summer or winter elopements, this lodge is right off the main road and is an absolutely stunning cabin.
I photographed a winter elopement here and this was the perfect home base for the day, the bride and groom got ready here, and had pizza and danced the night away!

8. Schweitzer Luxury Townhome on the Mountain
If you're craving a bit of luxury with an adventurous feel, this is the place for you! Located on Schweitzer Mountain, you have access to the rest of the mountain's amenities, including the chair lift! The sunset view here is spectacular, and the nice neutral interior colors will look great in photos.

9. Cozy Mountain Chalet
When I found this cozy A-frame mountain chalet, I added it to this list the minute I saw it! I absolutely love A-frames, especially ones like this nestled in the woods. There's a classic spiral staircase, and the picnic table outside could be dressed up so cute to host your elopement day lunch. There's also a hot tub on the back deck perfect for an evening soak after the day's adventures!

10. Bald Eagle Lodge in Sandpoint
Last but definitely not least is Bald Eagle Lodge in Sandpoint! One of my couples their dinner here after an amazing time in the nearby mountains and the hosts were so kind and amazing to work with! Such pretty forest views and the perfect place to stay and host a mini elopement dinner!
