Summer Elopement Tips

We’ve all heard some winter elopement tips, but how about some summer ones? ☀️ I came up with a few tips to keep in mind while planning your upcoming summertime elopement!

1️⃣ Keep in mind your dress type - summers are, well, hot 🥵 You’re going to want to be comfortable, so picking a more flowy dress might be a good idea. This will also come in handy for hiking. Picking a dress with flowy, breathable, lightweight material will help considerably! So you might want to skip the tight, form fitting dresses. But if that’s your dream dress, we will make it work!

2️⃣ Start early - summertime is peak tourism, so it will be harder to shoot at a popular spot. Either we can find a more secluded area, or it also may just be best to start early, before everyone else wakes up. This will help give you the privacy you are wanting.

3️⃣ Don’t forget the sunscreen (and bug spray) - this might be a no brainer, but sunscreen will save you from being in pain later on (I’m really bad about putting on sunscreen and I’ve definitely regretted not putting any on). You don’t want to be in burning pain the rest of your wedding week, or honeymoon time. If you’re worried about the chemicals in it (like me) there are definitely some more natural options out there. Same with bug spray!

4️⃣ Summertime is great for outdoor activities - if you’re an outdoor enthusiast, summer is a great time to get out and do some fun stuff! Keep that in mind for your elopement, there are so many fun activities you can add to your day to help it last all day! Some ideas could be boating, fishing, having s’mores by a campfire, kayaking, paddle boarding, and so much more! Don’t be afraid to add your favorite activities to your timeline!
