FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

North Cascades National Park Elopement, Mt. Baker Elopement - Karlie Larson Photography Idaho and PNW Adventure Elopement Photographer

WHAT DO I NEED TO BOOK A DATE WITH YOU?

After inquiry, I like to set up a phone or Zoom call to get to know you and more about your day! If you book with me, I require a retainer of $1000 taken off of the total amount of the package. This ensures that no other bookings can be booked on your date. This is due upon the signing of my photography contract.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE'S BAD WEATHER THE DAY OF OUR SESSION?

I think certain bad weather adds so much visual interest to photos, such as wind or rain! For elopements, I provide some backup locations and allow a two day window for flexibility. If all else fails, I remind my couples about the whole original intention of the day, which is to marry your best friend! So even if the weather isn't what you wanted, try to focus on the main point of the day (to marry your best friend)!

WHY DO YOU HAVE A LIMIT OF 10 GUESTS FOR ELOPEMENTS?

Adventurous elopements usually take place in areas of public land, national forests, national parks, etc. Places like these usually have limits on guest count because of the size of the area, size of parking lots, etc. You want to have the least amount of affect to these lands, so with a smaller guest count, it is easier to Leave No Trace, etc. With more guests, it is harder to keep the focus of the day on yourselves as well. If you want to celebrate with more than 10 guests, you can always have a reception at a later time to celebrate with everyone!

ARE YOU AVAILABLE TO TRAVEL?

Yes! I am willing to travel to you! I am based in North Idaho, but will travel to anywhere in the Pacific Northwest and worldwide to capture your day. My packages have travel included and I am interested in exploring more areas for your elopement!

DO WE NEED TO KNOW A LOCATION BEFORE REACHING OUT TO YOU?

Not at all! If you have no idea where you would like to elope yet, I can definitely help you pick out some areas that might be of interest to you based off of what your interests are and what your vision is for your elopement day.

DO WE HAVE TO HIKE FOR OUR ELOPEMENT?

Nope, hiking is not required for your day to be considered an elopement. Lots of gorgeous outdoor areas are accessible by many other ways like driving right up to it, off-roading, riding in a helicopter, etc. I can help you find a spot if you need it to be easy access!

WHAT IS AN ELOPEMENT?

Elopements are experience based wedding days where the focus of the day is all about the couple doing whatever makes them the happiest. Couples plan in activities that they love to do or have always wanted to do. They can include any traditions or guests that are meaningful to them, or it can just be the two of them. Guest count is usually 10 people or less. They are focused solely on you and your other half celebrating your love and getting married in a memorable and meaningful way. HOW MANY IMAGES DO YOU DELIVER?

I typically deliver about 50-100 images/hour. I do focus more on the storytelling of your day, so if you have lots of events going, then there will be more photos. But if you have less going or spend a good chunk of your day hiking/doing a single activity, then you only need so many images of that same event so I deliver just enough to thoroughly capture those events. I care more about documenting your day properly than delivering an exact image amount.

DO YOU HELP WITH THE PLANNING PROCESS?

Yes! As your elopement photographer, anything you need help with, I'm there! Things like researching permits, creating timelines, finding backup locations, providing vendor recommendations, location scouting, etc. I've got you covered!

CAN YOU PHOTOSHOP US?

Other than clearing minor blemishes or cuts/bruises, I do not alter the way my clients look. I am all about my photos being natural, and them not being fake in the final photo. These photos are of YOU, telling your unique and beautiful story!
